Taylor ADA CRT Point-of-Sale Stands and Mounts

Small Business

ADA Information.

Every business with a card reader terminal checkout is required to have one minimum ADA checkout and include an accessible card and PIN entry reader terminal. How it is mounted is very important and has to be an ADA compliant assistive tech stand/mount. An ADA checkout is required by federal law and it does have repercussions if not compliant.
Many SMBs take customers' credit card and run it (especially restaurants -a huge no-no). Another huge thing when it comes to the ADA, especially for California SMBs, - they have the CAL-FIN 13082 and UNRUH ACT. The non-ADA checkout problem is national for sure and the U.S. Access-Board is addressing these problems in 2024 atop the already ADA regulatory requirements.

We created our ADA card reader terminal stands and mounts specifically to correct the ADA problem at checkouts unlike others who go and file lawsuits against businesses. Do know, ADA Federal fines start at $75,000 and easily become discrimination legal issues too. This includes being out of ADA building code requirements. If you do not own the location you occupy and rent or lease it, the building owner can be pursued as well over your non-ADA POS checkout. We know why, but -ask them.

It is worth asking your merchant service provider and equipment provider why they did not equip you correctly. On the bright side, our ADA stands and Mounts are the fix. If you do have a screen-based PIN entry, we strongly suggest getting a traditional card and PIN terminal, add our ADA stand and accommodate all customers. Just like you have ADA parking, - the same is required, - an ADA checkout.

The IRS has a 50% tax credit for the purchase of ADA assistive-tech stands and mounts. It cuts the cost in half. The info and link to the form is on our purchase cart. The tax credit is available after purchase.

On a positive note, the IRS does offer a 50% tax credit for the purchase of assistive-tech (our ADA stands and mounts). Click here for IRS Taxt Credit Form 8826.
