Taylor ADA CRT Point-of-Sale Stands and Mounts

ADA/ABA Building Code

ADA Information.

All businesses are required by Federal law to have one minimum ADA checkout. The core to a checkout is the card and PIN reader terminal and the key to that is that it is being ADA mounted, meaning -assistive-tech mounted using the requirements of the ADA. For California, you have an additional CAL-FIN 13082 and UNRUH ACT.
In terms of language that the ADA/ABA/508/ICT uses for point -of-sale devices is "Transaction Machines". For Federal and Military and any other business on federal land with a checkout, you are already mandated to make these checkout devices fully accessible which requires the devices a mounted using the exact requirements and our mounting does just that and the only to do so in the world.

ADA.Gov Sec.36.402 Alterations. (a) General. (1) Any alteration to a place of public accommodation or a commercial facility, after January 26, 1992, shall be made so as to ensure that, to the maximum extent feasible, the altered portions of the facility are readily accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities, including individuals who use wheelchairs.

This is also for new builds once fixed elements like the checkout lane or counter is installed. The moment a (CRT) card reader terminal stand is mounted, it is considered an "alteration" under the building code. If it is not an ADA compliant assistive-tech stand/mount, you jump right out of building code compliance.

Our patented ADA terminal stands and mounts are the only available that accomplishes this, and we have made them readily achievable. Easy to install. You can have it set and ready for ADA use in minutes. It works for all cardholders whether standing or seated in left, right or forward positions.

The IRS does provide a 50% TAX Credit for purchase of our ADA Stands as an ADA assistive-tech. Need to earn 1 million or less annually (or) have less than 30 full-time employees.

The ADA part we never like to bring up but all business owners should know this, the ADA Fines start at $75,000. (per location). This affects both building owner and business owner + ADA building code problems and a person with a disability can file discrimination. It really is best to be ADA compliant at your checkouts.

Strongly note: Title: Accessibility Guidelines for Self-Service Transaction Machines Abstract: This rulemaking amends the Architectural and Transportation Compliance Board's existing accessibility guidelines for buildings and facilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), located at 36 CFR part 1191, to include guidelines for the accessibility of fixed self-service transaction machines, self-service kiosks, information transaction machines, and point-of-sale devices. The U.S. Department of Transportation and U.S. Department of Justice are expected, via separate rulemakings, to adopt these amended guidelines as enforceable standards for devices and equipment covered by the ADA.

This is for all businesses, Federal, State County, City, Town, Township, etc. Inspectors at all levels.
